Joseph Cornell Unveiled; The Museum Of Reverie
This project is inspired by the Art of Joseph Cornell. It conveys a series of spaces showcasing moments of Cornell’s life, emotions, dreams and aspirations (Reveries). It focuses on the act of displaying and exhibiting within a series of spaces linking architecture to the surrealist thoughts and juxtaposition which influenced Cornell’s work. It is foremost a museum; displaying objects, curiosities, architectural salvage and natural specimens. This museum is situated on the roof top of Selfridges, London, shifting it towards becoming an architectural landmark and a permanent museum rather than its current focus on consumerism and merchandise.
